Drug Alcohol Policy

The use of alcohol and/or drugs in the workplace constitutes a significant risk to the individual employee concerned and to his or her colleagues.  It contributes to impaired productivity and job performance, increased accidents and injuries, violations of security, loss of company property and diminished employee morale. Risks to third parties and to the environment are thereby also significantly increased.

It is, therefore, the policy of APETCO  Limited to:

  • Forbid the consumption of alcohol within company offices, vehicles and worksites.
  • Decline the recruitment of persons with evidence or records of alcohol and drug abuse.
  • Take disciplinary action against employees who fail to observe this Policy or ignore warnings on alcohol and drug abuse.
  • Aware the employees against Alcohol harm and risk.

In the event that any employees are to be assigned to any “safety and health or environmentally sensitive”  operational activities or positions/functions (as defined by the Company which shall be conclusive or subject to relevant local legislation), they may be required to undergo testing for alcohol or drug abuse prior to their taking up such assignments or from time to time during such assignments which may be conducted by authorized representatives of the Company (as considered appropriate by the Company which shall be conclusive).  Subject to relevant local legislation, such employees may also be required to consent to the disclosure of such test results to certain third parties as the Company considers necessary in its best interests.
